Picnyc Restaurant Concept
I designed the interior, furniture, lighting and flooring for a restaurant concept called Picnyc. The concept is to create a restaurant that bridges the interior-exterior barriers between spaces and foods. The tables are designed to house edible herbs that can be rotated to the exterior when necessary. Tables are made from bamboo and slate and they are modular so they can be placed continuously to promote interaction between diners. The wall lighting is made from kirei, wax and eggshells so they are entirely biodegradable (except for the electronics) and use removable LEDs. Ceiling pendants are made from recycled wine bottles. Finally, the floor features a modular cork concept that can be used to create patterns or define paths on a floor. Stools are biodegradable and made from peanut shells and wax.
