KÜP (MIT 4.111: Intro to Architecture Design, final project)

the objective of this project is to create a cube that is a combination of three puzzle pieces. The idea of a cube is abstracted here, but I attempted to create a repeating pattern of a cube's skeleton within the whole system.
1. The initial cube is 6x6x6 inches. It has three main pieces are placed in x y and z directions. Once the pieces and the key are put together, the cube locks, and the pieces won't fall apart at all when rotated in any direction in the air (not placed on a surface).
2. The second step is to modify the 6x6x6 cube into another cube that is 9x9x9 inches. The individual pieces are extendable when the 6x6x6 cube is locked together. Once the pieces are extruded, the cube will lock itself again, and the 9x9x9 cube is generated. This larger cube is also locked together, and will not fall apart.
The images display the parts of the cube and the key, and attempt to demonstrate how the interlocking system works in step 1 and 2.
