Winter/Spring 2015 Internship Project During the 6 months that I was able to be at New Balance. I had the opportunity to work on my own personal project that was later presented in front of the design teams and other departments. With this project I wanted to reach out to a new market for New Balance. I decided to design a lace-less boxing boot. Boxing is a sport where the boxers are walking billboards. They advertise the brands that sponsor them. This boxing boot gets rid of laces and adds a support band within the upper for support. The pods in the upper add structure, and a cooling system using Outlast technology. In the forefoot we have phantom fit technology to add more lateral support when needed. Very greatful for the opportunity that was given to me. Had a great time learning more about the industry and working with everyone there.
