Symmetrical Typography - Please view the original file! Fall 2009. This assignment called for a decision to be made between which I preferred more: Asymmetrical or symmetrical typography? I leaned towards my first inclination, which was what the title of this project suggests. This poster went through several incarnations before this final result. I hope Jan Tschichold will appreciate it from beyond.
Annie Liebovitz Logo - I developed this logo for photographer Annie Liebovitz in one of my university classes. The eye is a nod to her profession ("the camera lens is the 'eye' of the photographer"). The colors are taken from the iris of the main image while also symbolizing Liebovitz's laid-back manner and cool attitude. As simple as it turned out, much research was actually done on the subject before the development of this project.

Mapping Old Main - Please view full PDF! Fall 2009. This was a very daunting task, because Old Main is quite possibly the most confusing building after the Winchester house in California! Here I wanted to highlight the different departments housed in the building, and where their respective areas are located. I used bright colors to take away the drab feeling sometimes induced by walking Old Main's halls. :)

Psycho poster - Please view full PDF! Fall 2009 An exploration of the original 1960 film by Alfred Hitchcock. The main image is a screen cap of Janet Leigh from the actual movie. I kept the color palette minimal because of the black-and-white nature of the film. The red creeping out from the edges of the image hints at the film's violent undertones. I decided not to showcase the film's famous shower sequence because if you pay close attention, the film actually only implies violence and doesn't show it!

Roundup Brochure - Please view the PDF to fully appreciate this work! This was done in Winter of 2009 over the course of 2 weeks. The idea was to create a brochure for a hypothetical event targeted at a specific audience; I chose artistically motivated teenagers. The draw: celebrities appearing at this "event", and a chance to participate by submitting artworks. All images were borrowed from www.artandwriting.org. The hands I found in an image database and redrew in Illustrator.

"Wolverine Crossing" - This was done during the Spring/Summer of 2009. The assignment called for an informicon: an icon that informed, for lack of better terms, without text. There were no other rules, and we were allowed to be creative and silly with this one.

Poop Monsters Magazine set - (Please view the full PDF!) Fall 2009. This envelope and business card set was done for a hypothetical magazine company spearheaded by yours truly. I chose the colors and typeface according to the company's name. I used lowercase type to showcase the playful and childlike nature of the magazine. All images were drawn in Illustrator.
