The client came to us with a solid understanding of the end product in mind; we essentially just helped him execute the design. We started by creating a single hybrid profile of the major prehung door casings on the market, knowing that a cutout of this profile on two sides of the product would allow it to fit over most door casings on the market. Next we created a CAD model of the Rosette design with an injection molded manufacturing method in mind. With a design approval from the client, we moved forward with a 3D printed prototype to verify the functionality of the design. After finalizing the design, we further developed other styles of the corner molding for the client to offer to the end user. We are happy to see that this product is in full production and in major retail stores.
