The Petrus Violin Case is a light weight durable carbon fiber exterior case with an aircell padded interior, equipped with a hygrometer, multiple storage pockets, and of course storage for a violin and bows.
I was tasked with designing and implementing the production of the thermoformed interior liners. After the part design was completed, we produced the molds required to thermoform the plastic liners, as well as the 5-Axis CNC trim fixtures used to trim those parts to their final shape. The trim patterns in particular required a lot of time and attention due to the numerous tight tolerance slots and holes for the many internal components.
