Design for Sustainability Annex - The Sustainable Annex sits atop SCAD's Gulfstream Center for Design and provides additional classrooms, lecture space, a materials library, cafe, and even an amphitheater.
The Oculus - The centerpiece of the Sustainable Annex, the oculus acts as an air chimney, elevator shaft, and sundial for the building.
Garden Cortyard - The outdoor spaces are pocketed with cortyards and greenwalls to provide natural heating and cooling effects for the building.
Student Lounge - A place for students to escape work for a moment and enjoy personal time. The roof of the lounge acts as a rainwater catchment system which gets recycled for use.
Cafe Courtyard - The cafe is a much needed improvement to the existing space by adding comfort to students and faculty while cutting down on commuting time to and from meals.
Studio Space - Natural lighting helps reduce energy consumption while providing nutrition for plants which add to the interior atmosphere.
