Soils, Seeds, and Sprouts: Artwork by Sharon Bladholm at CAS/PNNM
In 2017, Sharon Bladholm exhibited "Soils, Seeds, and Sprouts: Tropical and Temperate" at the Chicago Academy of Sciences / Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum.
This ambitious show filled the Nature Museum's Flat Show Gallery with a combination of 2D and 3D art in a range of media including ceramics, glass bronze, watercolor, and etched prints.
In addition to editing all label copy for this show, I managed fitting and installation of 65 brass wall mounts and 11 suspensions for a focal installation, "Earth Stars." I trained the artist and two staff members to help fit the mounts, from initial shaping to applying shrink tubing. I also produced brass mounts for three other pieces of art in the show.
