Torq represents a series of firsts. The first hard-sided luggage with a locking, hard-shell front compartment. The first hard-side collection ever from the venerable Briggs & Riley. The first pc luggage durable enough to be backed by the Briggs Simple as That lifetime warranty.
I led the development charge on Torq. I created market research and competitive analysis, explored concepts through sketching, input model creation and 3D modeling. Once a design direction was decided I helped out with factory selection by visiting the suppliers in China and working with them on-site to help develop the first working prototypes. I created and managed all spec-packs and even helped with sell-in at industry trade shows by educating the sales team on how best to pitch the features of this never-before-seen case, I even handled a couple of sales pitches myself. I continue to check in on Torq while working on other developments by monitoring performance in the market and making tweaks.
