A composite of three separate images. Mountain, Female model, and the speaker. The Tablet that the model was holding needed to first be removed from the image so that the speaker could be placed into her hands. Then a speaker rendering at the correct angle was placed into the shot, shadows were added, and the female model was silhouetted into the mountain scene, which was blurred and lightened to create depth.

Composite of 2 separate images. The speaker rendering needed to be color corrected to look like it is sitting next to a warm fire.

Composite of 3 separate images. The Central Park image actually has water in the foreground, but I really liked the low angle of the shot. So I added grass from the image shown, and placed the speaker into the composed shot. To create the illusion that the speaker is resting in the grass, I cut some grass blades into the speaker so it looks like the blades of grass are in front of the lower edge of the speaker.

Original image (top left) was color corrected and manipulated to create depth. The Boombox speaker was added to the shot, and the composite is used on the front panel of the packaging (shown bottom).

The model was informally shot in a bedroom by the company owner. I placed the model into a more appropriate scene that was better aligned with the brand statement. The shirt was color corrected to Black, a logo was added to the front, and various techniques were used to adjust her makeup and hair.

Retouching / Photoshop / Image Manipulation

Sometimes there just is not enough money in the budget to hire professional photographers to shoot products. These are some examples of image manipulation that combine stock photography with product renderings. A few of these contain examples of combining mixed media sketching and digital images.
