Victor Cruz was an undrafted free agent for the NY Giants when he contacted me about some Dirty JAX clothes. A virtual unknown to the sportsworld in 2011, I asked him if he would mind taking some pictures in exchange for clothing... We met the next day and he was the nicest most professional guy I've ever been around. After that first shoot, we discussed starting a clothing brand together and before you could say Salsa Dance, Young Whales was born. I had a front row seat to a NY sports legend being born and when they won the super bowl in 2012, sales of our brand exploded. However, as Vic's endorsements and myriad obligations grew, a non-compete clause in his nike contract pretty much let to us phasing out our Young Whales business in early 2014... It was an amazing run that generated over a million dollars in 3 years and I got to work closely with an amazing individual.
