Shared preview of the pencil sketch done in Photoshop, only hinting at the overall premise of the piece.
Shared inking process of initial sketch preview.
Same block shared, this time of just the flats.
And of course, another teaser with the cell shading added.
Slightly larger teaser, again not giving away the overall premise of the picture. At this point one would assume it's just a typical Disney Princess piece.
Revealing a little more of the project, mainly because I was particularly proud of the job I did on Tiana. But still not giving anything away.
Another reveal, this time maybe calling the overall premise of the piece into question with the giant planet/moon in the background.
And the final completed piece, finally revealing Leia as the foremost princess.
Dawn Many of the background and smaller elements were drawn in separate Photoshop files. Shortly after finishing this pic, I used the file I drew Cinderella's Castle in to make some wallpapers for my phone, which I used in a Live Wallpaper that changed at set times during the day. This gave me a way to reflect Dawn, Day, Dusk and Evening while we went our bi-annual Disney vacation.
Day
Dusk
Evening Wall-E in the background there also makes an appearance in the Princess piece. No one's really seemed to notice him as far as I can tell.

Making a New Princess

Here are the small images I used as teasers slowly revealing the process of a Disney Princess pic I drew back when it was first announced that Disney acquired Lucasfilm.
