Hotel Putman

The lobby design for the hotel, “L’Hôtel Putman”, is inspired by the namesake of the hotel, Andree Putman. Putman’s style is infused into the design through use of simplified grid work, cube furniture, and a gray scale color palate. A Parisian designer, Andree Putman creates spaces that exude sophistication and class. She also has a tendency to create rectilinear spaces with touches of curvilinear elements. Her design philosophy includes great attention to detail. She prefers to create a space where the details are at first not noticed, so as to create a surprise later after careful study. L’Hôtel Putman will include this keen attention to detailing through design features such as the moulding on along the floor line and ceiling. As a whole, L’Hôtel Putman will emulate the aesthetic of Andree Putman: simplicity, symmetry, and sophistication.
