Shibori is a Japanese term for dying cloth discovered in 8th century.
Kumbo, Pleated and bound resist technique.
Kumbo + Nui, stitched pattern technique.
Arashi, the pole tying technique.

As a part of learning, we were asked to design something that illustrates our learning of the techniques and our filed of expertise. I decided to go ahead with the idea of creating patterns within a furniture piece that compliments this unique dying process.
Cross sections for the wood turning .
Iterations for a visually composed side table with distinctive pattern.
I had underestimated my arms, the wood turning was a task as it involves concentration ( so that I don't peal off my fingers) and steadiness to acquire the designated pattern.
Creating accurate angular holes for the joints.
For the cloth ,Nui (Stitch) technique ,is use to achieve that balance in pattern with the furniture.
