Iko - Team design with Josh Sin & Xiulung Choy. Iko is an awareness toy promoting FSC products. Made from FSC wood, it was meant to be part of a system that builds a community of Iko-wners and a resource for local FSC goods and services.

Musical Interlude - The intent of the project was to activate a public space, create opportunities for communication and enhance interaction within the city of Toronto for the Luminato Festival. I began with a walking tour of Toronto’s green spaces from Roncesvalles Avenue east to Bayview Avenue, between Bloor Street and Front Street. By mapping the different “colours” of Toronto, I chose Allan Gardens for its surrounding neighbourhoods and variety of users.

Universal Dufferin - A pilot project wth Toronto Community Housing, 300 Dufferin consisted of a Universal Design assessment of an existing site. We used Universal Design Best Practices to assess it for compliance and propose renovations to make it compliant. Our proposal had to prioritize the needs of the residents, management, and caretakers. The main client concerns were full accessibility, aesthetically pleasing, safe, sustainable, and cost-effective.

Tinali (Tied) Chair - Tinali means “tied” in Tagalog. The chair is made of untreated Bamboo stalks and Sisal Rope which are both found locally. The chair’s handmade quality pays tribute to the craft traditions of the Philippines. It is meant to sit in porches to help one unwind. The chair relies on the inherent strength of triangles for support. To highlight the triangulation of the structure, I ensured that each endpoint resulted in unique compositions.
