Job Description

As a Sr Kitchen Designer, Tabletop, you'll be accountable for and lead brand vision across Target's portfolio of owned brands, Room Essentials and Threshold. Product types include Dinnerware, Drinkware, Flatware, Serveware, Barware & Kitchen Counter. You will develop the product with direction from design leaders to achieve overall product design strategy and merchant objectives. You will design lines for a category, brand, business or guest segment utilizing your proficiency/expertise in product design and development. Additionally, you will be accountable for and lead the PD&D Design and Development Processes, which include:

• Design vision for dinnerware, drinkware, flatware, serveware, barware & kitchen counter.

• Drive and lead product research and design.

• Being an industry expert; able to forecast category, brand, business or guest segment trends.

• Travel to factories for the development and execution of programs.

• Mentor Associate Designers and Designers and enable collaboration among the larger team.

• You will be expected to drive and lead; Concepts, select materials, colors, and prints.

• Build brand cohesion; partner with peers across the division to ensure continuity.

• Product designs to support merchant assortment strategies, price points and overall creative direction.

• Diligent approach to workload, maintaining good, timely communication with internal and external partners

• Collaboration with product engineers and sourcing partners to identify, troubleshoot and resolve product issues.

• This role will need to be curious about sustainability and lead new initiatives for the category.

About you:

• Four-year degree in Design, Fine Art, or related field, or equivalent experience

• Minimum 10+ years of experience

• 5+ years of kitchen tabletop experience

• Advanced understanding of kitchen tabletop product trend, raw materials & product production

• Commercial sense, market knowledge, ability to research and apply market/trend information

• Knowledge of product development processes

• Experience in computer design system, including Illustrator and Photoshop

• Experience in CAD illustration or 2D/3D software

• Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision

• Ability to build relationships in order to successfully work with internal and external teams

• Ability to respond to business objectives with creative, innovative, and cost-effective design solutions

This position will operate as a Hybrid/Flex for Your Day work arrangement based on Target’s needs. A Hybrid/Flex for Your Day work arrangement means the team member’s core role will need to be performed both onsite at the Target HQ MN location the role is assigned to and virtually, depending upon what your role, team and tasks require for that day. Work duties cannot be performed outside of the country of the primary work location, unless otherwise prescribed by Target.

The pay range is $89,700.00 - $161,500.00

Pay is based on several factors which vary based on position. These include labor markets and in some instances may include education, work experience and certifications.
