Job Description

Who We Are
We believe branding can transform a business into something incredible because we are consumers ourselves. We’re a team of passionate creatives who specialize in the hospitality industry. We bridge the gap between your customers and your business through visuals and messaging that excite, inspire, and tell an authentic story—all while having fun. Big or small, digital to print, and everything in between, we’ve got your back. We’re here to make cool stuff.

Who You Are
Strong leadership, clear communication, and example-setting for a design team come naturally to you.
An unmatched understanding of branding principles is your superpower. You love knowing the why of a brand, and you can execute on it independently. You have no problem working on multiple projects in a day.
You’re a problem solver. Uncovering a solution thrills you. You take initiative in finding an answer, but you’re not afraid to ask questions, and receive and give honest feedback, especially when it means a better end product.
Your secret? Accountability. You are ready to dive into the deep end and own your decisions, even if they’re wrong. You know what it means to accept responsibility and put out a fire if needed.
You know client management and attention to detail are priorities. You can lead projects with accountability that may span weeks or months of development time and include frequent vendor and stakeholder communication.
Presentation skills and articulating your concepts clearly, both to our clients and to our team, are a must.

What Your Day Will Be Like as Our Senior Brand Designer
Review the team’s work and your own with a focus on art direction and holding our work to the highest standards, and provide and receive feedback openly.
Time management of your own assignments while also mentoring our junior designers and interns will be critical
Collaborate with your team to push concepts further to get the best results.
Expect each day to be different. Some days, you may be creating Instagram graphics, apparel, or redesigning a menu. Other days, you’ll be leading or collaborating on building a brand from the ground up, or ideating cool packaging.

Requirements (This helps us and you understand if this would be an appropriate fit)
A solid portfolio with examples of visual identities for different brands, from print to digital pieces. Menus, signage, and packaging examples are not required but will be preferred.
Leadership, growth, and evolution should be on your priority list and in your DNA.
You have a deep knowledge of design principles and the technical skills to keep up with a talented team. This includes the full Adobe Suite and Figma, being Mac-literate, and knowing how to design for Squarespace, Webflow, and social platforms.
Teamwork and an agency environment are comfortable zones for you. Expect there to be tight turnarounds on projects at certain times and long wait times on responses to work at other times. Ideally, you have 3-4 years as an in-house agency designer and more than five years as a brand designer.

Extras (These things aren’t required, but if you have them, you’ll immediately stand out)
Copywriting or being able to put your creative thoughts and process into really cool words
Illustration that enhances our clients’ brands
Familiarity with brand strategy and how to execute it
Knowledge (obsession) of the hospitality/restaurant and CPG industries
Experience with motion graphics

Benefits
Base salary and a year-end bonus for the company hitting its annual revenue goal (this is discretionary)
Medical benefits covered at 50%, optional dental and vision benefits covered at 100%, and term life insurance of $10,000
Annual performance reviews may lead to increases in your compensation and responsibility - we also check in with open and honest feedback every quarter
Flexible work schedule. We're in the office from 8:30am-4:30pm, but if you need to visit a client at 6pm and go to the doctor at 9am, we get it. Your expected in-office days will be Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. Tuesdays and Thursdays are flex days - you can choose to work from home, but you’ll be required to be communicative, meet your deadlines, and be available during regular work hours.
401K match of up to 4%
Maternity & paternity leave
20 days of PTO - for vacation, sick time, and personal days
The week between Christmas & New Year's off (if our goals are met)
Insider access to some of the best restaurants and breweries in Connecticut and elsewhere with an annual spending allowance
