Into the Woods - Costumes for Parkside Productions' "Into the Woods". Definitely the hardest show I have ever costumed. Cast of 19, three actors playing at least 2 roles each, and a 30 second onstage quick change including wig and prosthetics removal. We also had to replace an actress on opening night with a girl half her size (who in turn had to have her old role replaced by someone larger than her), which was fun for last minute costume alterations.
Into The Woods2 - Outdoor photoshoot I did for Parkside Productions' "Into the Woods" that I costumed. Cast of 19, with 3 actors playing at least 2 roles.
2013 Parkside Productions' "The 39 Steps" Created and altered sourced costumes including for multiple fast quick-changes, created puppets, assisted in props, took production photos. 4 actors play all the roles.
The Cocoanuts - Costumes for Parkside Players' production of "The Cocoanuts"
Costumes from 2012 Parkside Productions' "The Man Who Came to Dinner". Constructed dresses, hats, accessories, sourced and altered some pieces.
some of the hats I constructed for "The Man Who Came to Dinner", marking my first major foray into millinery.
The Tempest - some of the costumes from Parkside Players' minimalist version of Shakespeare's "The Tempest". Clockwise from left: Prospero, Miranda, Caliban, Trinculo, Sebastian. Trinculo and Sebastian were designed so that standing side by side, one outfit would actually seem to connect with the other.
Black Henna Productions, Shakespeare's "Twelfth Night" summer 2012, performed in parks around NYC. Concept: set in a modern summer camp, with the Illyria locals as camp counselors and other sundry employees.
Much Ado About Nothing - Costumes (found, altered, and made from scratch) for Black Henna Productions' theater in the park performances of Shakespeare's "Much Ado About Nothing" set as a modern tropical resort. Security guards were pool boys, the villains were a goth-y business woman, a stoner, and a raver, and the heroine ran around in a bikini and a raffia skirt.
Torchsong Trilogy - Black Henna Productions' performance of Harvey Fierstein's "Torchsong Trilogy". My challenge? To create three plays worth of costumes with a $150 budget. Oddly enough, the toughest part turned out the be getting matching bunny slippers, which I ended up having to make myself.
