The objective of this project was to identify the characteristics and needs of users with Asperger’s Syndrome/High Functioning Autism, evaluate the compliance of SKY NEWS (news.sky.com) against Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.0, and provide recommendations for enhancing the accessibility of their web interface.
The accessibility evaluation was conducted using Automatic Tools as well as using the Expert Review technique that involved manual evaluation of the website features. Nine unique templates were identified and were evaluated for compliance against the WCAG 2.0 guidelines at Level 1 (A rating), Level 2 (AA rating) and Level 3 (AAA rating)
The project also evaluated the accessibility for diverse disabled groups broadly classified into 5 different categories viz., Visual Impairments, Auditory Impairments, Physical Impairments, Cognitive disabilities and also for Old/Senior Citizens.
