College can lead students in many directions. Without the proper assistance, many become lost in technical terms, fine print, and hidden expenses. RBC connects students to all aspects of their banking and delivers it across multiple platforms to move them in the right direction. Through personifying our Student Account Managers “SAM,†students will have their own personal guides that are knowledgeable, accessible, and easy to follow.
Magazine Ad - The print advertisements are when college students get to meet SAM and see what RBC has to offer. Banking isn’t the most exciting topic for students, but in these ads, they will see an excited, energetic, oddly dressed character offering to be a guide for all their banking needs.

Viral - The main viral ad is an event called “Meet SAM,” where the SAM characters visit a college campus and introduce themselves to the students. They seek out places where students commonly have to deal with money, and offer quick tips on smart spending, saving, and mobile banking. They also invite the students to sign up for a Student Account at RBC. The event is also filmed and put on YouTube for the rest of the world to see what SAM can do.
Deposit Slip - Deposit slips can be hard to understand, from
the order of information to the terminology. The
design of the Student Checking Deposit Slip is
more guided. It is turned vertically so that the
order of information is clearer. The design also
features “tips” to better explain each of the terms on the slip. The design of the check is very similar to the deposit slip in that it also offers “tips” to explain how it is to be properly filled out.
Credit and Debit Cards - The concept of these cards is the idea that you are taking SAM with you where ever you go. The patterns, which come in a variety of options, fade towards the bottom of the card to ensure that the information is completely legible. The label at the top functions to make the card easily identifiable when in is placed in a wallet. The back of the card features contact information for SAM, including the url and student customer service.
iPhone App - The iPhone Application will provide students with mobile accessibility to their funds as well as provide them with tools to keep them connected.The “Find SAM” feature allows students to locate the nearest RBC branch location based on their current GPS location.
