'Big Cat Falls' Construction Fence Graphics - Large-scale fence graphics mounted to a construction fence inside the Zoo. The panels explain to visitors where the Zoo’s big cats are “vacationing” during their exhibit’s expansion, what the new exhibit will look like, and which big cats are still at the Zoo (and where they are located) that guests can visit. Pictured, two of three panels.
'Our Wildest Dreams' Fence Graphics - Hanging apart from the Big Cat Falls fence graphics, a second series of panels on the fence outlines the Zoo’s capital campaign for large-scale exhibit development. One large panel recognizes donors of various levels, and four panels each detail one major exhibit, starting with Big Cat Falls, to be created in the next several years. The four smaller panels showcase some of the preliminary architectural renderings and siteplan elevations.
My Wild Backyard - Year-round permanent exhibit instructing families in how to grow a National Wildlife Federation “Certified Backyard Habitat.” Three interpretation stations in the garden instruct visitors in creating food, water, and shelter sources in typical southeastern Pennsylvanian backyard settings. Each interpretation station features two “Discovery Pot” interactives that show older (5-7 year old) children exciting animal discoveries they can find in their very own backyards. Two interactive games developed by the Education staff encourage younger (3-5 year old) children to make critical associations between plant species that attract specific animal species, and how to identify those animal species.
Indigo Ball print collateral - Each year the William Way Community Center throws a lavish event to celebrate the Philadelphia LGBT community and raise funds for the community center’s programming. This year’s party was held at the Philadelphia Zoo and needed an elegant theme and complementing visual imagery that would excite and unify the audience. By combining the idea of dancing under the stars with the natural animal association of a zoo, the visual solution of animal constellations was developed and placed over the unique skyline of Philadelphia. Posters, invitations, reply cards, and reminder postcards were all created with the constellation imagery.
