Canary Wharf Infrastructure & Building design Coordination - Koetter Kim & Associates provided design coordination services to Canary Wharf Management, ensuring both KKA design as well as the design of other firms was closely coordinated with the overall Canary Wharf masterplan, adjacent structures and infrastructure. Work included traffic and pedestrian circulation studies, masterplanning, landscape & hardscape, connectivity with the Canary Wharf Jubilee Underground Line station, and design coordination with several name firms.

Morgan Stanley Pedestrian Bridge I - Morgan Stanley owns its own SOM-designed building on Canary Wharf. Upon leasing space in the adjacent KPF-designed building (30 The South Colonnade) they sought a secure internal connection - a 2nd-storey pedestrian bridge across the water of South Dock at the base of Cubitt Steps.

Morgan Stanley Pedestrian Bridge II - The bridge is a verendiel steel HMS truss resting on caissons set in the dock. The bridge ends punch through the exterior walls of the buildings it connects, bracing the bridge against the facade structure of each building. An additional bay, at 2nd floor level, matching the original construction, was added to the Morgan Stanley building (left side in larger photo) to provide landing space and allow the bridge to sit symmetrically between the buildings.

Morgan Stanley Pedestrian Bridge IV - Recent photo, and perhaps the last one. Goggle Earth now shows the bridge having been removed - only the caissons with their concrete caps projecting above the water remain. It was installed with the agreement between Morgan Stanley and Canary Wharf Management that should Morgan Stanley relinquish their leased space in No. 20 Cabott Square, the bridge would be removed.
