Speculative designs for TGS creative agency hq
"Bookmatched" custom built-in closets for a downtown Portland loft. Fabricated out of 100% bamboo ply. Lower drawers holds hanging files. Skinny cabinets with incised and inlaid pinstripes hole a hanger bar for clothes. Large cabinets hold adjustable shelves for books, entertainment system/electronics and more. A steel plate worktop (with a hidden structural support and cable management perforations) spans and connects the two closet towers. The custom finish resides in complete grayscale starting from a handrubbed ink finish and ranging to a 10% gray wash on the drawers.
Custom reception desk for Michael Curry Design Studios. The three main production departments onsite were reflected in the design- fabric/soft goods; sculpture; mechanical/engineering. We used a forklift to "weave" the steel flat bar through the uprights. The work surfaces are Maple and Kirei (a panel product made from sorghum agricultural byproduct)

An assortment of projects where the designs were constrained by the setting and physical infrastructure.
1-8: A redesign of a design program at PNCA in Portland.
9: A design proposal for a creative agency in Portland
10-12: A 10' tall custom door for the Quintana Gallery in Portland. The wood (Douglas Fir) was milled from beams that had been removed from a gallery up the street the prior year. Custom door pulls fashioned from mild steel with one side being flush mounted so the door could lay flush against the wall in the adjacent gallery.
13-17: Custom bamboo build in closets and desk for a loft in Portland.
18-19: Custom pallet wall for a loft in Portland. The seismic bracing presented a problem with regards to hanging art so the client asked for a solution that warmed the space and provided visual interest and function.
20-27: Speculative design for a atrium redesign at the center of the Pacific Northwest College of Art.
28-32: Reception desk made from woven steel and Kirei.
