UMA - Airport Maintenance Units

This huge project took around two years, I participated in it while still a trainee at La Jabonera - a design studio from Querétaro, México. It involved ASA (Aeropuertos y Servicios Auxiliares) - the organism that manages Airports in México and CIATEQ - an advance technology centre. We were required to do the Industrial Design of a Main Unit (UMA-01) and three trailers (UMA-02 to 04), with a clear visual identity (including a fourth trailer- a crane).

We started from brainstorming for concepts and sketching shapes with pencils to CAD modeling and even pasting the graphics on life-size actual units.

To be operating in Mexico City's International Airport in the first half of 2012.

Project in Collaboration with:
Carlos Castro - La Jabonera design project manager
Julio Sánchez - CIATEQ Querétaro engineering project manager
Andrés Cacho - design student and partner
