Syringe for Diabetes
In the condition of diabetes type 1, the
pancreas is unable to produce enough or none insulin at all. Diabetes is the first cause of death in Mexico with 90,000 deaths per year.
It is difficult for patients to use the correct dose because they are diagnosed in “units” but commercial syringes are measured in “mililiters”.
In this syringe redesign, tiny internal bumps measure each unit as the plunger is pushed, minimizing mistakes and “guessing”. External big numbers and blue rings that can be touched measure each 10 units. This is useful for patients with eyesight problems.
