At Viking Cues one of my main duties was to increase our product portfolio by continually producing new cue ideas. We release cues every quarter and the best quarterly cues make our yearly catalog. Cue design may seem very simple but there are many machining obstacles that can completely change your idea.
I was the main cue designer at Viking and every cue I designed I took from concept to creation. I would start with a pen and paper and finish by exporting the G-Code out from MasterCam, using SolidWorks for everything else in between.
The most rewarding part of the job was getting to see the finished product. I still have my first ever machined part, nothing else that I currently own will replace the feeling that small piece of maple gives me!
