For this project we looked at the artist Romare Bearden, an artist that lived in New York City. He was an American artist and writer who depicted African-American life. By looking at his artwork made me feel inspired to show my neighborhood and borough. I got my pictures of the landmarks near my neighborhood, the George Washington bridge, and Bennett Park and local shops. The non destructive techniques I used is a gradient layer for my background and use layer masks to show people out the window, a friend and a celebrity. As I live in Washington Heights and my piece of artwork reflects on my neighborhood by adding all the stuff I loved was very fun and my favorite part to remember, finding what I loved about my neighborhood and looking back on my old neighborhood, since it's a part of my childhood. I reached the requirements as I did my best to make it look like my neighborhood.
