I designed this one first and originally really liked it. However, I left and came back to it a few hours later and hated it. It was too dark and some of the text seemed too cramped. I also received feedback from peers on how to improve these things.
This is much more welcoming and well spaced in my opinion. Still maybe too simple.
Experimenting with adding character to the site with a texture in the banner.
I felt like the design may be a little too monotone and simple so I started to experiment with adding other colors into the mix.
I think this one has a really interesting look. There may be a bit too much contrast between the banner and main background though.
I wasn't sure if it was clear that the video in the center was my demo reel so I added a tag on top of it to show that. It gets in the way a little so I'm not entirely satisfied with it so far.
Here's what I have so far. This is what it would look like on someone's computer screen. I'm happy with the general vibe of it so far, but there are definitely some things that need changing. Most importantly, I think the toolbar and tag above the demo reel are too big, which makes the site look clunky. I also need to adjust the dimensions so that it could take up a full window.
I adjusted the resolution and fixed the scaling of some of the objects on the site, I'm very happy with this.
Here it is on a screen, looks great. The tab above the video still might be a bit too much.
This fixes the problem with the tab big time. I think the look and feel of the sight are done, now to design the other pages.
Here's the portfolio page, the videos and thumbnails are just place holders from my YouTube channel. This is my preferred way of organizing them.
Here's the resume page. It's nothing flashy or too special. I wanted this one to look professional while still fitting the style of the rest of the site.
Here's the final contact page!
