Made in collaboration with Caylee Raber.
Dayla is a standing aid to help support people with limited stability, and was created through intensive user-centered design research. Our co-creator, Jack, has a physical disability that makes it difficult for him to stand without support. He enjoys cooking at school, but he must hold onto the counter to stand, which prevents him from using both hands. We created a chest and back support made from bent wood that creates a comfortable ‘home base’ for Jack in the kitchen to assist his current standing ability.
