McDonald's Fruit Smoothies

In 2010 McDonald’s ad agency was placing ad buys in the Portland market, so I was charged with creating a sample set of ads to help bring in some of this money. Armed with six dollars worth of stock photography, I created a digital ad campaign based on the slogan that the smoothies are “Sock-it-to-you refreshing.” This set of ads, designed to run together on the home page of OregonLive.com, have a veritable explosion of fruit expanding out of the bounds of one ad, onto the website’s background and into the space of the other ads. These ads were a big factor in landing the account, at which time the ad agency revealed their national fruit smoothie campaign, so my new task was to bring the digital ads in line with print ads. The product of this effort can be seen in the last example on this page.
