Ideation sketches
Laser cut out acrylic parts of glasses
Used heat gun to create radius and curves, and sanded down all the edges to achieve the ideal shape of the design
Explored different shapes and colors of the frames and temples
First prototype take away - The green acrylic color was too strong - The nose pads was too big and did not fit on the face - The temples were too skinny
Final prototype - Used clear acrylic and dyed with Rit Dye More to achieve the desired glasses frame color

Root

The Root is a pair of optical glasses that addresses both functional issues and a lifestyle message.
The shape and color deliver the message of going out to explore and enjoy nature instead of staying indoors to work or read. This is inspired by the retro hipster style that communicates the concept of happiness and freedom. Using a unique approach to the design, the glass sits on top of the frame in order to let users clean their glasses with ease.
