Joystick Improvement for Kalmar Industries
almar Industries is going to implement a new multifuctional joystick in their cabin for reach stacker trucks. Their evaluation of their current joystick concept highlights some ergonomic issues.
The final concept is an unconventional joystick that utilizes the center of the palm in order to adjust the joystick to different hand sizes. The buttons are grouped by functionality and frequency of use and placed on several function surfaces to increase functionality and the ergonomics of the joystick. A fully functional model was tested in a simulator to be verified.
