Restaurant Design (2007) - FareStart is a non-profit organization that "transforms lives of the homeless through job training in the food service industry." The goal for the design was to capture the essence of FareStart within the space - thus, the centerpiece became the communal table around which friends, family, and strangers come together - representing the sense of "home" and the support of the community; while the salvaged beams from which it is built are a metaphor for the belief in "second chances".
