'Happenings' was an exercise aimed at educating students on the importance of working with others. My group decided to make more than just a restaurant, but rather an all-inclusive night out where people could eat, drink, and enjoy a show.
After the design was finalized, each student was given individual tasks to complete. We aided each other with the work and discussed any issues that arose during the project's preparation. I worked mostly on the technical parts of the project, including the computer work, presentation and sample boards.
While working in a team distributed the work load, clashing ideas and design choices made evident the challenges faced when working with others.
In the floor plan you can see the free-form layout of the sunken seating area, one of many 'groovy' design elements. A more sophisticated teal and orange color scheme keep within the restaurant's hip feeling.
The reflected ceiling plan details the unique ceiling design as well as the special lighting fixtures.
