Corpus: Interior Lighting
Design and construction of four hanging lighting pieces for a private client in Ecuador. Inspired by the local festivities of Corpus Cristi in Cuenca-Ecuador, where, as part of the celebrations outdoors, people release hot air paper lanterns into the sky at night. The structure and the way in which the lamps hang from the ceiling make them float visually. The shades are decorated with illustrations of local fauna from the surroundings of the house. Metallic plates and rods make their structure. The shades are semi-translucent acrylic sheets. The structure is suspended from the ceiling by stainless still cable rope. Modular design, easy to disassemble.
