If you have ever installed a heavy object above your head, you will appreciate the mounting features of the xArray. A mounting plate is attached to the ceiling separate from the device, in order to reduce the weight suspended over head while securing it to the ceiling. After that, the xArray can be hung on two hangers, giving easy access to attach data and power connections. Next the unit is rotated up into place. One of the things that happens during this step is that the wires are held in such a way that water cannot trace them back to the electronics module, even when tilted 15 degrees. A simple, low-profile snap is the final securing feature. The attachment can hold more than 4X its own weight (~80lbs) in order to meet fire safety requirements.
