Firefly Laser Lamp
The goal was to design a unique laser product for an emerging company. As this was going to be the first product the company would launch, cost was of particular focus. Other key design elements are: heat mitigation for the laser, control of the center of gravity for the product (with or without batteries), and the unique mounting of the laser into the heat sink. These are just a few of the challenges that needed to be addressed as I moved this design from concept through prototyping and into the release to contract manufacturing. I have included pictures from the development including some unique prototype views.
