GETTY LA

I HAVE NO IDEA HOW THIS HAPPENED, BUT I HAD LIVED IN LA FOR FIVE YEARS AND MANAGED TO NEVER VISIT THE GETTY. LIVING RIGHT DOWN THE STREET FROM LACMA, I ALWAYS VISITED LACMA AND MOCA IN DTLA. TO BE HONEST, I ALWAYS THOUGHT THE GETTY WAS JUST A TOURIST DESTINATION. WHILE THE GETTY IS FILLED WITH HUNDREDS OF TOURISTS ON ANY GIVEN DAY, IT IS ALSO HOME TO ONE OF THE MOST BEAUTIFUL MUSEM COMPLEXES IN AMERICA.

THIS PLACE IS STUNNING FOR MANY REASONS, AND IT QUICKLY BECAME ONE OF MY FAVORITE SPACES AND PLACES IN ALL OF LA. SITTING ON TOP OF A HILL, THE GETTY BOASTS VIEWS OF THE PACIFIC TO THE WEST AND SWEEPING VIEWS OF THE ENTIRE CITY OF LA TO THE EAST. THE TRAM RIDE ALONE IS WORTH THE TRIP AS YOU GLIDE UP THE MOUNTAIN TO THE TOP. THE GROUNDS OF THE MUSEUM MIGHT BE ONE OF THE MOST WELL MANICURED GARDENS I HAVE EVER VISITED. THE LANDSCAPING AND ARCHITECTURAL DESIGNS AND DETAILS ARE TRULY SPECTACULAR.
