BOUDLERS BEACH, CA

WINDING ALONG THE COAST FROM CAPE TOWN TO SIMON’S TOWN, I WAS MET WITH STUNNING VISTAS OF PRISTINE BLUE/GREEN WATERS, WHITE SAND BEACHES, AND STRIKING MOUNTAINS. THE COAST OF SOUTH AFRICA IS TRULY STUNNING. FOR ME, BOULDERS BEACH STOOD OUT AMONG THE REST WITH ITS CASCADING GRANITE ROCKS AND COLONY OF NEARLY 2,000 ENDANGERED AFRICAN PENGUINS.

MEANDERING THROUGH THE BEACH BRUSH AND BOULDERS, FOLLOWING THE WOODEN WALKWAY DOWN TO THE PENGUINS, I CAME WITHIN METERS OF THESE PENGUINS. THERE I WAS STANDING ON THE SHORELINE WATCHING THE CRYSTAL BLUE WATERS OF THE INDIAN OCEAN CRASH INTO ANCIENT ROCKS ALL WHILE DOZENS OF PENGUINS IN THEIR “TUXEDO SUITS” WADDLE PASSED ME ALMOST RACING WITH EACH OTHER TO DIVE INTO THE WARM OCEAN WATERS. THE ENTIRE EXPERIENCE WAS TRULY REMARKABLE.
