India, Agartala : Indian Hindu devotees wipe vermilion on each other in front of a large idol of Hindu goddess Durga as they prepare to immerse an idol of the Hindu goddess Durga in the waters of river Hawra on the last day of the Durga Puja festival in the northeastern Indian city of Agartala . The festival which started on Friday is the biggest religious event for Bengali Hindus. Hindus believe that the goddess Durga symbolises power and the triumph of good over evil.
