A toy prototype developed in which children use foam blocks to build cityscapes on an interactive playmat. When done, they wreak havoc, crushing the cityscape while engaging exciting noises built into the playmat.
Foam blocks are kept simple in design to reduce manufacturing costs and improve ease of production. The mat is non-slip and screen-printed with a custom design.
Internal playmat design uses foil and perforated foam to create large pressure sensitive switches in each area of the mat. For example, the parking lot area triggers a car horn sound sample.
Early prototyping of sound triggering options.
