Designer's Desk
The 1st place winning entry for Autodesk and Steelcase's worldwide "Design for Home and Office" competition in 2016.
As a designer, I strive to bridge the gap between functional practicality and good aesthetics. This design is an attempt to redesign the classic drafting table. I wanted it to have a surface that could be angled for working on large pieces, but still be a table that can hold the various tools and objects that a desk typically harbors. As the photos show, the work surface is designed to lay flat while not working on drawings, and another sliding surface can be pulled over it, protecting your work from smudges or coffee rings.
