Engaged by GIRO footwear to extend their cycling footwear line into the knit technology world. This was a collaborative effort. The real challenge was creating a shoe that would not distended during the forces of cycling, especially during the upstroke. We developed special yarns, knits and welding processes to strengthen the upper. I worked on the design, prototypes, and setting up the supply chain with factories. Once we developed the initial process and structure of the uppers, I worked closely with the GIRO design team to realize the line extension of the technology across a few key models.
