“Chess Masterplan”: not just an object but a renewed identity for a Chess board which awakens new emotions, severing all ties with traditional and pre-conceived ideas.
The inspiration for this board game was the development of urbanplanning projects through three-dimensional parametrictechniques and the sequential subdivision of the methodological stages. Thisproject arose from the spatial organization (board) as if a territory to beclaimed. The area, circumscribed by a square and subdivided into sixty-foursmaller squares has been modified and its boundaries transformed. Thistransformation was carried out smoothly and fluidly and according to the relevanceof each area, which are directly linked to the hierarchy and importance of thepieces themselves. The areas that will be occupied by the pieces of greater importancewere extended and elevated which diminish in conformity with the least relevant pieces, according to the very rules of chess.
