I was asked to create a piece based on a current event and chose the MuskRat Falls Hydro-electric project happening in Labrador, Canada. While I support renewable energy I found myself struggling with the governmental lack of process and the legislation they created to disallow competition in the energy production market. This hydro project will produce enough energy for our province and enough to sell outside the province. Unfortunately consumers have no other option and other companies are not allowed to set up and sell energy within our province.
