The Sunday Driver - This is the famous, why pink?....drill. Well first you have to understand the scenario I was working under. In this scenario, i'm working for a company that has no brand identity from a price point battle with other low-cost tool manufacturers. So I had to add percieved value into the line. Pink was the added bonus, it was a challenge by my professor to make a pink powertool. I did this by making an emotional connection through generations. Pink was once a cool masculine color when it was associated with 1950's vehicles like Cadillacs and Chevrolets of the time. So I translated that object language to my drill design. The pink represents that emotional connectivity between generations that i spoke of, and the gray represents inviting leather seats. The chrome speaks of the decadent trim and tail-light trimming on those period vehicles.
