Clowning Self Portraits
2D Level 1 (grades 10-12) Students learn to do a self-portrait through mirrors. We go over anatomy, facial concepts, and value in depth. Then we make copies of them, and learn about defacing them through 'clowning' them and what that means in art. The last step is we take photos of the portraits in their cell phones and use apps to create a digital output through any apps. Its a long lesson, about a months worth, but WORTH every minute.
