Charlemagne
A study of the typeface Charlemagne. I began by analyzing the individual letters to find the unique qualities that contribute to Charlemagne's particular essence. Through my investigations, I created multiple iterations of the 'typeface grids' that crop letters to show off the elegant and eccentric mannerisms of certain characters and collaboratively display the type's personality. In combination with a final video, my explorations aim to expose Charlemagne's whimsical, yet structured, composition.
