Comets Diner Logo - This was part of a larger branding project for a retro diner. This logo was designed from the original sketch by the owner's wife. I came up fonts and colors for them, as well as the overall look of their design. I also provided high resolution tiff files, as well as EPS files of the logo to them for later use. At this time I was also doing a lot of vinyl decal work for different businesses, and I installed window lettering and some interior signage for them on-site as well.
Retro Poster - One of the many posters I designed for use at trade shows for Vintage Vending. Done using Adobe Photoshop.
Father's Day Sale Poster - This poster was done for a Father's Day sale. It was done in Adobe Illustrator and displayed on-site at the store, as well as on the roadside.
Retro Kitchen Poster - This is another photo that I did along with my supervisor at the time, Nancy. We set up and shot this kitchen scene, and later designed this poster which was used at trade shows to advertise our Retro Furniture line. Designed using Adobe Photoshop.
Vintage Sign Illustration - Designed in Adobe Illustrator, this vector artwork was done for a t-shirt.
Coffee Mug Flyer - Coffee mug flyer designed using Quark, Illustrator and Photoshop advertising a line of novelty coffee mugs. Note the "Old Man on the Mountain" design.
Rambler Motel Illustration - Vector Illustration of retro sign done using Adobe Illustrator. Originally done for a t-shirt.
Rock N Roll Victor Bar and Popcorn Machine Set - This project was done for a client who wanted some really over the top retro collectibles for his gameroom. Well, he got them. The vinyl artwork was designed in Adobe Illustrator, and was plotted on a Roland ColorCAMM Pro, which I taught myself to use while working at Vintage Vending. The artwork here is 13 separate layers of vinyl. Whew!
Rock N Roll Victor Bar Detail - A detail shot of the vinyl work on the Victor Bar. Note the wood grain vinyl on the juke box.
Neon Clock Lettering - Neon clock designed for Saturday Night Live skit in 2003. This was a last minute request from SNL, they were using it in a skit featuring Britney Spears, shortly after she married that guy in Las Vegas for like 15 minutes.
Retro Wagon Decals - Streak O Lite Wagon decal on the side of the wagon was originally paint, but had worn away over time. My job was to measure, research and restore the old decal to its original splendor using high performance white vinyl, which we then clear coated over to seal it.
Flame Trash Cans - Designed these flames to wrap around this retro bullet trash can. Careful measuring and long arms came in handy when designing this. This trash can also enjoyed a brief period of marginal fame when it was featured in a Subaru commercial. I was so proud . . .
Vintage Popcorn Machine - Vinyl graphics on a retro popcorn machine. Made to resemble an actual box of popcorn. The Flaps, base, and light up sign on top are all vinyl graphics that I created and applied by hand.
Retro Popcorn Machine - Another cool popcorn machine. Vintage Vending did a series of "Art Deco" machines, and this was one of them. The frosted glass is acutally frosted vinyl which I cut by hand. The base and top front graphics are also vinyl.
Retro Popcorn Machine - Lots of detail on Mr. Dee-Lish. Designed in Adobe Illustrator and created with a Roland ColorCAMM Pro vinyl plotter.
V-Back Diner Booth Set, Photograph - I include this here to show some of my photography skills. This was shot with a basic Novatron lighting system and digital camera. Later it was cropped and cut out in Photoshop for use in flyers, catalogs, etc. I've done lots of shots like this over the years.
Coffee T-Shirt Graphic - This was part of a series of shirts we did when I worked at Vintage Vending. This goes along with the two other "Get More Out Of Life With" designs included here, and was done to resemble the old matchbook clip art from the 1920s, 30s, and 40s. Done in Adobe Illustrator.
