The challenge was to pick a design system that could be repeated throughout the entire project and be used for all the different programs that this project required. I choose the strip system and used sound as the other parameter to guide my design.
Design logic + Site. The strips could be changed in many forms and materials.
The Otis Campus is located right on Lincoln Blvd. (a main street in LA) and right next to LAX so sound is a huge problem. The louder the noise in the area the higher the landscape was raised.
Durable materials and plants that could grow in the Southern California environment were chosen.
